Make a Microloan for 7-yr old Carson’s Health!
Friday, 11. 7. 2008 – Category: AGE: 5-7 years, AMOUNT: $250-$500, GENDER: boys, NEED: Holistic Pediatrician
This loan has been paid off!
First Posted On: November 2, 2008
Name: Carson
Age: 7 3/4 years old
Diagnosis: Asperger’s
Loan Sought: $300
Loan Needed For: Visit to a holistic pediatrician
Repayment Terms: 12 months ($25/month)
Other Notes: Carson’s mom, Dory, writes: “Carson is an amazing boy who has come a long way in his journey. He has made significant progress in general awareness, empathy, and social skills. He loves to read, build with Legos, play t-ball, dig, and learn. He enjoys homeschooling as he is able to study what interests him, which is mostly science! Someday he will make great contributions to this world that has been so difficult for him to travel through. We are determined to create a full recovery for him.” Dory is in the same local support group as Penny — Logan’s mom — and learned about Lend4Health through Penny. Dory notes that their DAN! doctor is Dan Rossignol, but they are using this loan to go see Dr. Berger in Tampa.

November 9, 2008: Carson’s loan fully funded.
November 9, 2008: Promissory note sent to Carson’s mom, Dory, for signature.
November 15, 2008: Signed promissory note received from Dory.
November 16, 2008: Dory wrote to inform me that Dr. Berger cannot see them until the middle of 2009. They would like to work on Carson’s gut issues sooner than that, so they are looking around for another practitioner who can see them sooner. Lend4Health will be holding the loan for them until they have a “Plan B” in place, as agreed to by Dory.
December 30, 2008: Dory wrote to inform me that they have made an appointment with their regular DAN! practitioner, Dan Rossignol. The appointment is scheduled for January 22, 2009. The 1/2-hour appointment will cost less than the loan amount, so Dory plans to use the additional amount of the loan for any testing recommended by the doctor. The 12 monthly repayments will begin on February 15, 2009.
December 31, 2008: Loan of $300 sent to Carson’s parents via PayPal.
January 28, 2009: Update received from Dory: “We had our DAN visit yesterday (we had to reschedule) and we are on a new treatment plan for Carson’s gut. I am hopeful and excited to try this new strategy in bringing him relief. Although we didn’t ask for it this time, Dr. Dan gave us a discount on our visit. We will use the remainder of the loan money for a test we need to have run. Thanks so much for helping us in Carson’s recovery. We are so grateful for everyone’s donations and will send updates on his transition to full healing! Peace, Dory (blessed mom to Carson)”
February 1, 2009: First repayment of $25 received (2 weeks early).
February 1, 2009: Second repayment of $25 received (1 1/2 months early).
February 7, 2009: Remaining amount paid off! “I’m thrilled to let you know that we received our tax refund sooner than we thought, so we went ahead and paid off our loan. Thanks so much for everything. I will be sure to spread the word about Lend4Health!”
Note: This loan has been fully repaid, about a year early! This family is considered to be “in good standing” with Lend4Health, which means they are eligible to request another Lend4Health loan in the future if they would like.
March 1, 2009: Dory sent this video to me. She said it is about Tommy, one of the kids she tutors. Tommy’s dad created this video.

May 3, 2009: Update: “I wanted to let you know that Carson and I will be leaving for Tampa tonight. He will be starting HBOT treatments tomorrow. We were awarded a month’s free treatment by a charity. Please keep him in prayer, as I know it will be difficult for him to begin this new challenge. We are hopeful that it will benefit him and feel grateful for the opportunity. We will be coming home on weekends so that he can spend some time with his dad and I can get my tutoring in. Thanks for everything you do!”
May 5, 2009: Update: “Well, the best laid plans…We ended up having to come home and couldn’t do the HBOT treatment. Carson had some type of allergic reaction at the place where we were staying. We didn’t have an option B, so here we are. I am going to work on raising money to rent one for our home. That way some of our friends’ kids can use it too. I’ll keep you posted!”
